Pregnancy Therapeutic Massage

You are in safe hands with me, as I have over a decade’s experience as a senior midwife. I understand your pregnancy concerns, and with my in depth knowledge and extensive experience of pregnancy (and the many ailments that present during this time) I can treat you safely, as I am fully aware of all contraindications relevant to you, your pregnancy and the therapies provided. You are in the safest of hands.

Pregnancy massage
  • Pregnancy massage has been shown to reduce anxiety, ease back, leg, hip & pelvic discomfort, improve sleep and decrease levels of stress hormones.

  • Pregnancy massage is a beautiful relaxation therapy that can offer you some much needed ‘Me Time’ during this transformative time in your life.

  • Therapeutic Massage can be hugely beneficial during pregnancy (for mother & baby) in relaxing and balancing the whole body during this incredible and yet sometimes tentative time.

  • These therapies will leave you feeling relaxed, energised and empowered. Gentle aromatherapy oils that are safe to use in pregnancy can be used to enhance the benefits of your massage. Bespoke, organic, safe-to-use-in-pregnancy oils can also be purchased to take home to use between appointments. These oils can be used to relax and calm through your pregnancy, and (from 37 weeks), oils to help the body prepare the body for labour.

Reflexology

Reflexology for Preconception Health

Mother-to-be: Reflexology helps prepare your body for conception and enables you to be in the best possible health to conceive. I combine three therapeutic techniques:

 

  • Fertility & Endocrine Reflexology

  • Pelvic Realignment

  • Pituitary Tapping

  • These three therapeutic modalities can gently bring your body into balance in order to promote natural conception.

  • This combination of techniques are all wonderfully relaxing, extremely gentle & incredibly effective.

  • Advice on nutrition, fitness and supplements for preconception health given as part of therapy time.

 

Father/parent-to-be: Partners can also hugely benefit from reflexology for preconception health. Book as a couple & attend together, or book individual appointments. Early Pregnancy Relaxation & Wellbeing Therapy
(from positive pregnancy test-10 weeks pregnant)

  • Maternity massage & reflexology especially created for early pregnancy.

  • Ease aliments of these first (often tentative) weeks of your pregnancy.

  • Safe, gentle therapies to support you at the start of your pregnancy.

Benefits of Reflexology for your First Trimester of Pregnancy (4-12 weeks)

  • First Trimester Reflexology can help to relieve & ease physical symptoms such as: tender breasts, fatigue, nausea, constipation, UTI’s (urinary tract infection), bloating, heartburn, panic attacks, headaches, insomnia, indigestion and mood swings

Benefits of Reflexology for your Second Trimester of Pregnancy (13-27 weeks)

  • Reflexology can help relieve & ease the physical ailments of the second trimester of pregnancy including: Back pain, sciatica, heartburn, ligament pain, constipation, frequency of micturition (passing urine), palpitations, water retention, leg cramps, oedema, hypertension, carpal tunnel syndrome, itchy skin, cholestasis (liver condition).

2nd Trimester

Benefits of Reflexology in your Third Trimester
(28 weeks to first contraction)

  • Reflexology in the third trimester can help to ease & relieve symptoms associated with: Back ache, rib pain, symphysis pubis discomfort, braxton hicks contractions, groin pain, ligament pain, constipation, UTI (urinary tract infection), cystitis, sciatica, oedema, hyper/hypotension (high/low blood pressure), headaches, itchy skin, heartburn, indigestion, gestational diabetes, fatigue, insomnia, muscle & ligament pain.

  • Reflexology can sometimes assist with turning breech babies. Please ask for more info using the contact form.

  • Third trimester reflexology can help to prepare your body for labour & can sometimes prevent the need for medical induction.
